Hi everyone,

The carpet in my deluxe needs replacing. I was wondering what my best option is for replacement? There are quite a few different types, but I'd like one that is a direct fit (with no modifications if possible)

I'm just after black, so nice and simple.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I got the black loop pile. Their classic loop pile is better quality but is 2x the price, worth it IMO if you want it to last.

I've used these in the past, similar design to the Knox ones.

Both these suppliers' kits are glued down, not clipped.

I haven't replaced carpet before, what glue do you recommend?

So I'm undecided for my carpet colour. I have black door card and dash cards + black seats, and a white headlining.

I was just going to get black carpet cause that seemed the default option, but I was thinking maybe a grey would look good?

Has anyone put a grey carpet against black interior? or any other colour? (my car is red as an FYI)

Reckon that'd look okay even though the paint on the insaide is red? (Doors/pillars ect)

Cheers Timmy, forgot you had the red carpet! Yours seems to match pretty well with the colour of your paint. I'm a little concerned mine may clash because it's a really dark red?

Sometimes the best option is to go to your local carpet shop - you may need to shop around and you may find a carpet close to what you currently have. My local supplier carries stuff that closely matches that used in the early Ss - Axminster, Westminster or something like that.

You then use the existing carpet as a pattern - plus a bit of trial and error - until you get a perfect fit.

Then you go back and get the edges oversewn.

That way you avoid the obvious misfit - as demonstrated by the red car....

.And.. I would never glue carpet down - I've had to remove it too often. The carpet shop should be able to sell you some decent underfelt. That, plus properly fitted carpet shouldn't move. A few strategic bits of velcro will finish it off.

Thanks Ian, the only thing I don't want my new carpet to be ANYTHING like my old one, it is awful, so kind of working with a blank canvas. I might see what my local carpet shop carries though, thanks!

Yep, definitely don't get a flat carpet like mine, get a nice moulded one.

In my defence though, I bought that carpet before I owned the car and the old carpet was mostly missing.. (and it was very very cheap too - $45)
