G'day everyone, is any running with a 65DM4 distributor? Just want to confirm the coil resistance. I currently have a 3 ohm coil (GT40T) and I understand that the 65DM4 should be less than 1.5. This could explain the issues I am having with the car stumbling.

Hi Yes should be 1 ohm or less. I run this dizzy in my 1360 / RE13 cam.

The other thing is the curve in these dizzys are way off if the car is modified.

I sent mine to Graham Russell who re-graphed it. This made a substantial difference to the running of the car.

Its worth swapping coils to see if this the difference.

Thanks Bernard, what would be the implications/ effects of running a 3 ohm coil on a distributor requiring less than 1. I am not really educated in the whole residence concept

The first thing is you will eventually fry the module on the side of the dizzy.

I am not sure but you may not be getting full spark, is the spark a nice blue colour or a yellow (weak spark)

The modules are not cheap so I would get the correct coil. I have blown one. they can be hard to get as well these days

The spark is a nice blue colour at idle but as I have worked out the car could be falling apart and still tune at idle. It's struggling under load. Recommendations for a correct coil?
