Well, today I bit the bullet, the wasaMatic is now on the logbook system. No fuss, but you do have to fill out a change of details form before fronting the RMS counter.

What was the cost for 1 hour of your time?

Was there a fee? is what I should have said. :) I'd like to get mine on the trial but the club has opted out. Time to change clubs...

Nope no fee at all.
They print a new rego & label, and a new approved ops sheet. And give you a 1 page `logbook' with 3 of the 4x 3 month panels crossed out, for the 3 months until renewal.

[edit] I fail to see why a club would opt out? If they opt in, it removes onus from their registrar to know where and why a car is being driven (if not to/from a Club event).

I don't see the need for club involvement at all. Why cant concessional/limited use rego be provided to classic cars on the log book scheme by RMS and keep existing number plates (eg personalised plates) even if an identifying sticker needed to by put on the number plates.

Agreed, you own your classic car, you're the one that has put time money and effort into it.

Hi Steve,
Yes I agree about personalised plates. With the technology available now I don't understand why the historic plates can't be personalised and maybe a different colour scheme or number range?
And if I can put my custom mini on log book next year then what about the Euro Plates I paid $400 for?

Personal plates = a yearly income for the government..... Just another tax....

The clubs play a role in making sure that the cars fit within the pretense of the scheme.

A authorised vehicle inspection place could do that also just another sign they get to put on the wall out the front of there shop

You have to go to one to get a pink slip anyway
