Just wondering what people's experience is regarding rear braided brake line to the trailing arm. I have installed the rear hose but to me it's too short and tight. A new rubber hose which I have is about 15mm longer (165mm). I guess the other thing is that I am assuming it runs from the angled bracket on the subframe to the bracket on the bottom of the trailing arm.

The kink doesnt look very nice, i can imagine it would only get tighter as the arm tops out. Did you buy the lines premade? It may be suited to dry radius arms which have the lines mounted on top where the bump stop would usually be for hydro arms?

Edit: just realised i cant tell if you have the subframe upside down or not?

Oh, yeah. The subframe is upside down. They were premade (mini kingdom) but I think they're basically BF Goodrich/minispares. It's a dry radius arm. I may even look into a custom made line. I was basically wondering if anyone else has used braided lines and whether they've had any problems with them... Thanks, Jon.

I bought some pre made ones that also seemed to get a bit too tight for my liking when the arm was near top out.
I had these lines made up at the local brake shop. They are steel braid with a clear rubber sleeve and are ~170mm long.

Yep, OK. You would think they'd make them too long in the first place...! I might look for a brake place that makes them up, saw someone advertising this.. Thanks Jim..

Try bending the mounting angle a bit. It's not bent to the same extent as JimL. His is 90 deg but yours is considerably less.

they should be a quality item, I have not had any problems to date, so my knowledge of
of the product is limited. The fact that I have not had any problems to date, does not mean
no problems can arise.
I do not think the hose should have such a tight bend, so if you cannot find a reason for this that makes
sense, and can be rectified, PLEASE RETURN for credit. we should not take any chances with your brakes.

I used the rubber hoses when I did mine I don't trust any thing in that steel braid stuff as you cant see damage to the hoses when doing a general check on the car

I have the braid lines on my quad that's how it was built and the clear sleeves do perish over time still have to change them

Same goes for the same stuff for plumbing use I've seen them blow off
Last one I seen was on a mixer tap which was in a two year old unit

I don't know drjbeam, my scooter had braided lines standard. It is meant to make the brake pedal firmer due to less expansion of the hose with pressure and be able to take higher pressures without failing. I've driven a formula ford and pushing the brake pedal was like pushing a brick, that's how much flex wasn't in the system due to the metal braiding.

Every one has there own preference that's just mine

can you flip the bracket around 180degrees?
