ERR umm too late
the dash isn't all back together properly yet in anticipation of such a problem. if it shows too slow i'll take out some of the spring pre-load
Well i got the answers to the questions i had
The odometer wasn't working because a spring clip on the side of it came off, now back on.
Speedo well it's a problem with the cable at the gearbox end cause i can hold it at one spot and it will turn with the car moving but push it in 1mm too far and it stops. Thats a one day when i get the extractors put on so i can figure out the problem
Ewwww dear...well no real harm done...
You should be real gentle prising off the needle...especially if the spindle has splines on it...resist the urge to twist...grip the spindle firmly with some smooth pliers.
So just whack it back in temporarily and note where the needle reads at a particular speed checked against another car or timed against a measured clickometer. Look at how far you have to move the needle around then remove it and carefully take the needle off and put is back on further up or down the dial (trial amd error)
The spring clip..was that a spiral spring or a domed thingummy?? If its the spiral spring then they do lose their tension so it might just fall off again unless you shorten it ever so slightly...
Hey...and watch your speed
