I was recently told that for around five grand, I can have a whole A+ series engine/ gearbox, disc brakes, dash and just about everything from the front of a ninties cooper s converted to my mini! this meant air con, EFI a more powerful 1275 engine, compared to my 1100 and, well brakes that actually stopped me!
Im really considering this conversion, it sounds like a good deal but as always before I do anything to my mini I consult you guys, and gals. So has anyone out there done this conversion and would you reccomend it?
I know my engine and gearbox are on their way out due to some recent disturbing noises and the passengers getting a foot massage from something banging against the firewall  . So any ideas on a new engine that will cost me around five grand would be helpfull.

I have heard that Jap Front Cuts go for around 4K...so if 5K is the cost to convert your Mini then it sounds reasonable to me...just remember that the power is down.

2 words.... DO IT.

I put an 1275 A+ engine package in a mini and it was really nice. Smooth, powerful, modern(ish) and reliable. Unlike the rattly old smokey worn out gutless unreliable POS 1100 that was in it. Didn't cost me much more than a full engine and g'box rebuild and I didn't look back. Best move I ever made on that mini.
