Hi all,

Got my engine in the other day which has got a nissan pulsar dissy installed. I noticed once the distributor is set up it fouls on my bonnet release handle even with elbow HT leads.

I found this and wondered if anyone had installed on on their round nose, and if so any opinions on it / difficulty to install ect?

It would get rid of the external release which the lead is resting on so thought it might be a good little accessory - depending on modifications required.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

James

I installed one on my 65 deluxe, more for a little piece of mind as the engine bay cant be accessed from outside of the car, not that it would stop a determined thief! it was simple to fit, no mods required.

To Do it properly you will also need to change the Grille to the internal bonnet release type which does not have the big gap to put fingers through.

Or just rivet/screw a small metal plate behind the opening.... 8)

or replace the top slat with one from another grille and cut it to length...

as for the distributor, pull the distributor drive out of the block and turn it around to the next tooth, then it'll be away from the bonnet release and you don't have to change anything

I never suggest to anyone to remove the dizzy drive, you know it will end up in the sump.
Just turn the dizzy a quarter of a turn one way and swap the leads in the cap a quarter of a turn the other way.

He did this the other day when he had a Gemini starter on it.
