This is the BMC accessory steel sump guard that was fitted to NSW Police country based cars. Three bolts across the front of the subframe and a couple each side. It has a rubber pad at the tail end that rests against the gearbox extension and a cutout for the sump plug.

I have a Minisport alloy gaurd on my car , nice and light , has a few scars on it , so worth the money, will put one on my van when the time comes .

I had an original type on my MK1 years ago , they were fairly heavy .

Here's pics of a sump guard I had laser cut & fabricated from 5mm ally.
