Hey All,

I have a heater valve blanking plate, and a fuel pump blanking plate which need to attach but I dont know what nuts/bolt to buy to attach them.

Can i use nuts to attached the heater blanking plate? or do I need studs + nuts? and what size thread?

For the fuel pump, there are already studs in the block, but no nuts, so what size nuts should I buy?

Thanks!

Blanking plate / heater connection on head is 1/4" UNF, you can use either bolts, or studs + nuts.
Nuts on the fuel pump studs are 5/16" UNF.

Awesome, Thanks.

If I get nuts for the heater connection, what length should I get? I presume the holes aren't very deep?

I think you are confusing bolts, nuts and studs..!
If it has nothing in there now, go buy two bolts, 1/4" UNF x 1/2" long. With a spring washer on each. Less hassle than studs and nuts.

Kev, would I be mad if I seemed to think they were 1/4 UNC to the head?

I screwed up a thread a little while back and seem to remember they were UNC...

Nope, they are all 1/4 UNF unless someone has retapped them.
Manifold stud holes are 5/16 UNF, rocker stud and thermo housing stud holes both 5/16 UNC.

Usually all threads into steel are UNF and if the thread is in alloy parts, such as gearbox or flywheel housing it is UNC.

True but there are exceptions, particularly for studs, eg oil filter, fuel pump and head studs screwed into the block are all UNC. But they have UNF nuts on em.
