In 35 years of driving 6 different Mini's I've had one condenser failure.....

It is so common today hearing of condenser failure. I have even heard of people fitting new Condensers that did not work and had to put the original one back. Good reason to buy one of my Electronic ignition kits. And Hey Yes they are made in CHINA Like the ones with fancy names. All come from the same factory. I would not have interest in selling them if they were no good. Many people agree. It is a bit unfair we have certain people putting down certain parts made in China. Just for the reason that they are made in China. How many more parts are they buying 'made in China" too and they don't know it because they came from a supplier who put his brand name on the packet. Wake up people.

Chinese electronics are generally fine, even high end stuff made there. However it is well known that their automotive condensers and some coils are rubbish.

I have seen a number of ridiculously premature failures from Chinese mfrs and have talked to those in industry about the perceived "problem". If there is good engineering and quality control oversight then they can produce top stuff.

However, electronics that fail early, clutches that fail because the hub spiders were over machined and 13 row ally oil coolers that could not take the pressure are some examples. I don't want to even think about ball joints or hub bearings!! :(

Noting the above, I wouldn't like to be staking my reputation on Chinese Industry per se
