Hi All,

Trying to refit tidied up single speed self-parking wiper motor to Mk1 S after a long time........ My pics of the assembly before taking it off are not clear enough and searching through all posts and wiring diagrams, still not clear as to which wire (green and green/black) goes onto terminal "1" and terminal "2"......they are not marked in the wiring diagrams for this car....

Have the correct wire to the "E" terminal at least.....

Does anyone have a pic or know for sure which one go goes where? It is a Positive earth generator car.

Trust me, I have searched for ages on ausmini but nothing is clear for this particular motor.....

Thanks in advance.....

Thanks gtogreen.

My motor is square and has only 3 terminals marked "1" "2" and "E". I know the E is for the self parking and goes to the black wire but not sure for the right way for the other 2 terminals. Just managed to get the wiper motor running on the bench, and it works either way - just yet to find for example: "green to terminal 2" when fitted in the car.

power from the fuse block (green) to middle terminal on wiper motor
then Green/black trace to #1 terminal on the wiper motor
this wire goes (earth switched) to the wiper switch, then from the other side of the switch to the earth bundle on the speedo (from memory)
my memory is lagging these days tho but still, that should get you there-ish :-)
of course you have the 2 earth wires on the wiper motor yeah? one to the wiper body & the other to the 3rd terminal on the motor itself , i think ... dam i`m getting old :-)
i may be wrong so maybe double check with the workshop manual,,, all the wiring loom diags are in the decent early genuine workshop manual, so make sure of your model & look it up
i have to use a magnifying glass & my strong eye glasses & a really bright light & still need another person to check for me :-)

Black = Earth ,Earths wiper motor case to -ve. Black/Green = 1 ,Goes to wiper switch, earths through wiper switch to supply -ve to motor when switched on . Green = 2 ,goes to +ve

Edit : The above description is for a Negative Earth car .Positive Earth car is the same colours and terminals ,but polarities are reversed eg: Black = Earth ,Earths wiper motor case to +ve.Black/Green = 1 ,goes to wiper switch, earths through wiper switch to supply +ve to motor when switched on. Green = 2 ,goes to -ve

Thanks guys!

This will also help others in the future with the same seemingly rare wiper motor - my local guy had a few wiper motors but none of these. Finally got it working on the bench now. Just got to fit and wire up as you guys advised, and finger crossed.... :D

Thanks for the question BBY755,
I am reassembling my '66 S and haven't really thought about the wiper motor wiring, although I will need to soon. It is similar - 10/65 and square-bodied.
Thanks to AJ and TheMiniMan too.
