Hello mini people,

Just wondering if any mini car clubs have organised anything (cruise, etc, etc . . . ) for that weekend (6/10/16 - 9/10/16) at and or around Bathurst?
Any info, contact details etc, etc would be appreciated.

Regards

Scott

Do you mean apart from the event already organised?

Yes, one where it involves the greater mini/moke (not just the chosen few with a "cooper s") community and doesn't cost the earth to Bathurst.
Hence why I'm asking if any mini car clubs are organising something??

It's open to all mini variants except the moke, I'm taking my 850 along. I thought the price ($330) was pretty reasonable too for what was included, just my 2c

Fully subscribed I believe.... (Unlike Minifest 91 when any one who turned got to do a lap)

So am interested in any other events as well.

But then again finding accommodation is the first task...
Looks like all the motels in the region have been block booked when I looked a few weekends ago.

As far as I know you can still sign up for mini's at Bathurst 50th anniversary event and get all the benefits but not the parade lap as it is restricted to the first 50 cars. What you get for the cost seems a pretty good deal to me and you get to share it with mini enthusiasts!
Cheers
Rod

Always tough to get accom at Bathurst for the race weekend in Oct.
Depends on what accommodation you are after and for how many?
Camping - well Tent City always have a pretty good setup. Can book from 1 to 5 nights. I know of mates who stay there and its pretty good . ...Or the Showgrounds..
Or leave your name on wait lists for motels. There are always cancellations and now is the time to get in as the motels are just sending out re-confirmation emails. I just received mine from Bathurst motor inn...Try Danielle there, she is always very helpful and knows whats going on around town.

Homes outside of town if that suits are also still available but you need to be quick

Hey Scott,
Yes there is a major mini event organised for Bathurst this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the mini winning Bathurst and filling the first 9 places. I did start communicating with V8Supercars and this has now turned into an event called "Minis Marathon to Mecca" which is now being organised by Todd Martin from Muscle Car events
Details on page 5 of this article http://ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php ... 60#p987591
Main issue is now to try and find accommodation as there are about 100,000 people who attend the Bathurst 1000 event each year.
Yes this event has now reached the 50 entrants who will most likely be privileged with a parade lap on the Saturday, but other people are still signing up for the 4 day event which includes meet and greet on the Thursday afternoon, a cruise and lunch on the Friday, car display outside the Motor Museum on both Saturday and Sunday. The cost for this event is $330 which includes a 4 day entry and pit pass for the track events.
I am also in discussion with ARDC for a mini display at this years Muscle Car Masters which is held each year at Sydney Motor Sport Park. This year the event has moved from Fathers Day to later in the year Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October, and the Mini Car Club will be attending on the Sunday as this is the day of the main races and ontrack events. This year there is planned a mini only race with and expected 30 car field which is being organised by the HRCA.
If you require any further info please pm me with you phone number and I will give you a call.

Cheers
Michael

No worries micheal, you have my details, lets get something happening. Ive spoken to some of "my people" and they like the idea of a "convoy" north picking people/minis up along the way. (Asparagus job 2?), if anyone is interested in being apart of a "convoy of minis/mokes/etc to muscle car masters, let us know here so we can put the proposal to our respective committees and go from there.
