No, the purists wont pull him up for incorrect tail lamps, he has 2 screw fitted. This is Dad hoping his had 3 screw as I have a brand new set, but I require 2 screw for the 68 S restoration. Bugger! DaveP

The English made 3 screw L647 units required bulleted wire ends and Douglas connectors, whereas the Australian made 2 screw AL136 has Lucas terminals straight out of the bulb holder. This required the loom to have a special plug for the lower stop tail bulb holder and a single right angled connection for the indicator.

What are "Douglas connectors"? And are the Bulleted ends soldered or just have the wire turned over a lose-fitting bullet-shaped terminal?

They should be soldered bullet connectors. These days they are probably crimped.
The other style is mainly used as an earthing sleeve on lamps. The beehive indicator lamps had them as well as the wingard interior lamp.
