Hey Everyone,

I'm finally getting towards finishing my project however I attempted to put the bonnet on today to find that it is not latching properly.

It seems that the latch on the bonnet itself doesn't line up properly with the receiving latch on the car body (the bonnet part is in-front of the hole on the car body). The bonnet itself seems lined up well with the car body and i cant adjust it backwards anymore, so I don't think that it is an alignment problem. It doesn't seem like it is bent out of shape, and if I bend the bonnet latch backwards to make it line up with the hole, then it is on quite an angle. Whilst bending it back will make it line up with the hole correctly, the angle seems to make it so that the latch itself wont work (ie the latch on the car wont grab onto the bonnet part).

Is it possible I have an incorrect bonnet? When i bought the shell it didn't have a bonnet, so I had to purchase a new one for it. The one that I have has a latch in the centre with a spring surrounding it (which seems to match the centre hole on the car body) and a bonnet catch on the far passenger side at the front.

Has anyone else had this problem before?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Richard

Perhaps you could post some photos???

I think all bonnets are pretty much the same shape/dimension (ignoring Clubbies :) ..although the hinge locations changed this should not have affected the location of the latch.

If you have had front end work done they may not have got the slam panel (which holds the body part of the latch) the right shape or in the right place...

Cheers, Ian
