Does anyone have a picture of what the crankshaft sensor looks like? What is this connected to? I am starting to think that maybe the wiring to this sensor may have burned out and hence this sensor is not receiving power full stop.... is this a possibiloity?
It is the sensor behind the starter motor

On an automatic its on the outside of the torque converter housing. Blue square plastic block thing.

you need to know if the crank angle sensor has the correct voltage, and using a tester, check wether it has a pulse while cranking.

There is no module in the dizzy.
the fuel cut switch won't affect spark.
Fault code reader wont tell you.
won't be any of those.

It would be cheaper to put it on a truck and deliver it to my house to find the problem...

The crank angle sensor is mounted on the torque converter cover, down low at the back, with a harness & plug attached to it. My inj 1/2 cut engine would'nt go recently (same as you, no fuel & spark) so I pulled the sensor out and cleaned all the crap of it, and pulled the rubber sleeve back to check the wires were'nt broken, to find a broken wire! I soldered it back on, refitted the sensor and she fired up straight away!

Thats great news. I think we are all waiting to know what was wrong.

So when are you putting a carb etc on it or selling it? Or do you love it again.

I always hate my car until its running again....then its like love all over.

ok the offician diagnosis was a fried crank angle sensor.... so replacement one of those and she is back in the garage, happier than ever in millions of pieces.

And Ryan.... i am back to loving her too much to get rid of her.

BUT... if she breaks again. Its $500 to the first person with cash and a tow truck to take her away.

now........... to fix the not working indicators and the overheating problem and put her back together again................... watch this space.

On Manuals it's behind the starter motor, on auto's it's on the torque converter housing.
