hey
well i can remember a topic that was "how quick can you remove an engine", i put this to shame, its taken 3 hours so far and all i need to do is this one little thing, see pic

the little rod that is cirled, there are little rods going through it they wont come out,

Get a pin punch and drift them out, if you don't have a pin punch then a concrete nail with the tip ground flat will work (the right diameter of course). They are spring pins and I think they are stepped so will only go one way, if you can't remove one, try the other one.

i remember this bloody pin. you need something exactly the same size as the pin and punch it through.

we ended up just cutting it off :lol: cos i new i had a spare

An electric drill chuck key is what i used years ago, give it a good hit.

Put it in Reverse, then use a 3/16" pin punch to drive the front pin out.
If you don't own a PROPER pin punch, go buy one, or a set- before you slip with the BFH and hurt yourself... :lol: 8)

It's a rolled pin..you use a pin punch to drive it out...you will need it to put back once you put the engine back in so it's worth saving ;)

Go to your nearest supercheap auto, say "Hi I'd like a pin punch set" and pay the person around $10... You will need it again to put the engine in with a new pin anyway...

Split pins are soft crap, even softer now made in China... :lol:
And always undersized.
The proper pins are a `roll' or `spring' pin, they are harder, and a tight fit so the linkage has less slack.
Do it properly- these pins cost peanuts... :wink:
