Is any body else having a bad run with NGK spark plug, i bought my mini home from Hay & put it in the garage, a couple of weeks later i got it out, idles on 4 cylinders, drives on 3, pulled the plugs out, they looked good

Put stuck a new set in, runs prefectly, the plugs that came out had done 20k's max, 2nd set in a month that have gone to crap, anyone else had dramas?

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Yep I last had a pair go bad on a run down the highway to Wakefield Pk. That was 2nd time I got some duds. Ever since, I've used Bosch W7DC. Same heat range as a BP6ES but I reckon they are a better plug. Side electrode is thicker so it doesn't sag with the heat.

<edit> For Wakefield Pk track work I bung W6DCs in. (same heat range as NGK BP7ES).8)

I found that over the years each plug manufacturer has a run of quality issues, maybe it's NGK's turn?

Daniel
PS - I've always used NGK on my own cars since switching from Champion in 1993 so I hope it's not a common thing

Hi all, yeah i had a drama with 8 ngk bp6es s/plugs from 3 different boxes(boxes of 10 s/plugs) thank goodness it was in my car and my wifes car (In my wifes mini,2 brand new s/plugs stopped operating within 10 mins of 1st ever start up of engine while running in cam etc...march. Then prior to leaving for hay on the friday arvo 1 stopped working, (all had except 1 had done less than 200 km's the other 1 had done just under 1000kms.). Just glad it didnt happen while we were on our way up friday night!). the other 5 were in my car at various times as it gets driven more often as well as in a much more "positive" fashion!! They just stop working there is nothing wrong with them on the outside (gap is ok, no cracks etc..), I just took mine back to the shop i bought them from and he swapped them over (coz ive been going there a while) for me and was going to speak to his rep/supplier about them. Never had this drama with ngk s/plugs before.

Don't sweat it...theres a bug in Ausmini....especially prevalent in the intuduce yerself section. Have you searched on Hay 2007...there should be pics of yours and the pink Mini there.
