im trying to bolt the back together and i can tighten it to a certain point but then it starts turning round like you have to hold on to something to stop turnig

so my q. is how do u do this

sorry if this doesnt make much sense im new to this

Provided both parts are paint, dirt and grease free, they should be fine.
some light taps with a fibre hammer may help settle the joints in a bit.
Put some copper grease on the retainer nut too.

Put some weight on it, ie with the jack under the bottom arm.

what he said, jack from underneth act as your hand, i was told to also add a flat washer with a lock washer,

Like they said above - put a jack under and carefully pump it up a bit or the other way is to lower the car down with a length of 4 x 2 (or similar) on its end (of course) under the ball joint.

A lock (spring) washer should not be used with a flat washer. It defeats the purpose of the spring washer... as the flat washer can spin it undone. :wink:

A new spring washer... :wink:
The idea of a spring washer is the ends bite in and prevent it unscrewing.
Alternatively, use a Nyloc nut, no washer needed.
