what do you get if you mix 30 yr old brake fluid with 30yrs worth of brake shoe dust
"a wheel thats pulled a shitter"
you said it Will

you wouldnt have known if you drove it. pulled up very nicely, some of the wheels would even lock up if you pressed hard enough, and we're talking about drums here

Looks like a candidate for some new wheel cylinders, brake shoes and check the drums..
Hmmmm... wonder what the rears are like..
Fix 'em properly & they'll last another 20 years or so!

depends how far out they need to be machined... 60 thou is probably the limit. I had problems with machined drums when I had them on my K, I had to buy oversize shoes and couldn't adjust them far enough to use up all of the pads

If drums need machining take them to a brake shop, the shoes too. They will supply rebonded shoes with oversize linings, ground to match the machined drums. There are 2 std oversizes- + 1/32" and + 1/16".

Never try to use standard shoes in a machined drum- it doesn't work. By the time they are bedded in they are worn out.

Jesus Duc when I said to try and make your Moke go faster i ddint mean screw up the brakes..!!

My advice would be to replace the lot. Just did that on the van as apposed to having the drums machined and oversized shoes put on as on the sedan, and the van stops in half the time the sedan does...

After driving the van with discs on though, I am still collecting loose change from the back of the couch until I can get some discs for Mo...

yes replacing all the old bits does sound appealing
especially when dealing with safety.
