I know this subject has come up before but can we have some photo's of what people think is the correct spark plug caps for Australian mini's incluing the Clubman GT.
I've seen a number of photo's but I'm still unsure of the correct cap for the year of each model.
Nothing like a chat about original detailing in engine bays

Lots of photo's,Models and year of manufacture.
All of the early Australian Mini parts books list part 8G576 as the cap, with 12A365 sleeve and 7H6894 clip. I can't find a picture of 8G576 but assume it's the one shown at the start of this thread - Champion WC187 that Phillb has shown us in another thread.
Here are two photos of a GT engine bay. One is from the crash test photo that appears to be a late rather than early model (with the four-way breather). The other is part of an article in Australian Country magazine dated Feb 1972, so may be a prototype or press/demo model. Since they are both the same cap it would be a safe guess that it was used during most of the GT production.

The Mark II Cooper S certainly had the solid plastic numbered cap like the photo below of my 1970 car. I don't know when they began or ended.

I have another factory photo in colour of an Australian Mk1 Cooper S engine I will dig out, and they have a different set of plug leads again. I got the pic from John Hesselwood, so will scan it an post it up.
