My tach is a cheapy 2" one in a black housing. I removed the chrome rim from a dead 2" smiths oil pressure gauge and glued it over the black tacho rim. It looks great mounted in top of the steering column. 8)

The reason I used a 2" tacho was that I wanted it on the column and to still be able to use the drivers side glovebox. I've got one of the walnut dashes with two glovebox lids.

I have a classic smiths 3" one in an aluminium hosing saved for the Traveller.

The Moke has a three gauge Clubman cluster mounted in line of sight of the steering column, cos teh entire loom came from a Clubman S. But I'm not 100% happy with it yet. :(
