IT'S OFFICIAL!!! I have just driven JAM for the first time in 3 years!!!

.....and I have to say....

I'M EXCITED!!

Image

I spent all last night doing everything. This morning when the family was all up I turned JAM over....and IT FIRED!! :D

The rumble from the zorst is like a drum.....almost rotary like in sound :P It's a very cammy sound...caused by the RE13 and the LCB

I bled the brakes and clutch and that first drive was magical! I cannot believe the pick up the RE13 cam gives the motor. It says 998 on the block, but  it's far from it!!

The post mortem has revealed 1 or 2 minor issues, but I am a little miffed about the clutch :? It almost needs 2 pumps to function properly....if I don't give it 2 pumps it won't go into gear AT ALL :x I have bled it at least 5 times....no change. Anyone heard of this before?

Hey, congrats on the finished job. I'm sure you'll have fun. :D
Reguarding the clutch, that's what mine did some time ago.
Turns out the cylinder had siezed in a position and only got enough pressure to operate
after a couple of pumps. May have to come apart.

Congrats Anton.

Re the clutch, check with the doc what master cylinder you have got. It might be what I was mentioning a few weeks back about needing a 0.75 but having a 0.7, therefore not enough fluid volume and travel to engage properly.

Anyhow, they all have minor issues to tweak.
Enjoy.

They are both brand new, as is the clutch slave cylinder.

Fluid maybe?
I doubt you'd have cylinders switched, even then they are the same unit.
May need the doc for that one, since we don't get pics till later.

Anton did you run the pipe back to the master cylinderas doogie suggested and i showed you the other day? I think it would be a wise move to try that. You will need to pump lots and lots!
Hope you get it sorted. I am going to go reset my timing again. and hopefully mine will fire tomorrow too! hmmmm, i hope it does.

Cheers

Aaron

yes Aaron.....I bled it via that method....then the usual method...then Doogies method again....etc.....etc....

I am sure that when I took the cylinders out of the packaging I matched the part number to the description on the receipt....ie: Part# ??? - Clutch master Cylinder....
