Is there a difference in Oil and Water galleries in these two blocks? And hence making the heads not swappable?

Cheers
Aaron

1100S and Cooper S will interchange. No differences really.
But a Morris 1100 is a different animal.

1275 head gasket fits all 1275s...

Nope no difference, my MUM has a solid block Cooper S engine in her car, still blows head gaskets and cracks it once a year

Heads are swappable aren't they :?: AFAIK

Cooper S heads have one more head stud or bolt(can't remember) but the 12G940 can be modded to have this as well,

1100S doesn't have the tappet covers on the back of the motor and gets less bore flex apparently due to have extra webs....

Interesting, i was just looking at the two blocks and the rear center water jacket hole on the s block is a small hole, similar to a oil hole. Where as the center hole on the 1100s block is a bg hole(same as the other two water holes) Thats why i asked as i thought, maybe the center hole on the two blocks were actually different. Oh well worth asking i guess.

Cheers

Aaron

1275 heads are all interchangeable.. number of head studs excepted. I've got a MK2 S motor with a worked 1275 LS (12G1316) head on it. It's got the 2 extra stud holes now, too...

i was thinking similar Aaron....I had this type of issue in my SLR 5000 years ago. I put an old 308 intake manifold on a newer 308.....water / oil jackets didn't match......got a milky surprise

Um Aaron... are the brass drilled core plugs at each end still there, and flush with head face? Near #1 and #4 exhaust valves.... gasket overlaps them... if they move you can get milky oil or oily milk!

Still as I said "Nah", accordinding to the books. Maybe a Morris/Austin 1275/1300 GT saloon engine.......

Very clear to anyone when you said rubber drive shaft couplings. They were only on the very very early 1275 'S's in the UK 1965-1666 (OK for 1071 but the torque of the 1275 was a problem) .

I could go on but enough...
