Fly isn't normal, he is an extremly talented driver. To be able to get into a stocko 998 he has nevver driven and win Hay Hero's.... Come on he is a freak! I will get there, back to where i can compete against the masses.

Cheers

Aaron

Why wouldn't it? Every other part of this engine has been butchered by the previous "engine builder"!!

(I put that in inverted commas as I use that term only very loosely to describe that bastard!!)

Bob, is this the same donk that the flywheel was cactus on?? I remember seeing that one.....

Yeah - that's the one.

I can't really afford an engine rebuild right now, but I'm sick and tired of band-aids on this car. At least now with how thorough Graham is being I at least shouldn't have to worry about the engine for quite some time!!Image

I'd better bring some flowers home the day I get the final bill!!!
Or this might happenImage :!: :!:

Yeah, picked the block up yesterday, picked up a new oil pump today.
Graham rang me today and said one rod needs to be closed and honed - he will take care of that tomorrow for me. We're going to screw it back together tomorrow (wednesday) night - or at least make a bloody good start at it. I'm back at work now so it's nights and my RDO's for working only.

I'm hoping for a Dyno run on saturday arvo ImageImage and possibly putting it back into the car on monday (my next RDO).ImageImageImage We'll see how it goes. If need be I'll take another annual day next week so I can make sure I'm ready for the Dyno Day.

If you need somebody to drive it around so that is properly run in before the Dyno Day, I'm more than happy to make the sacrifice!! :)

Happy to take some days off work to help out....

You ever driven a front wheel drive with a LSD before?? Takes some getting used to!! I nearly jumped a gutter the first corner I tried nailing it around after installing the limo!! Couldn't believe how much the car just pulled around the corner. That was BEFORE all the extra power/torque I'll hopefully end up with after this rebuild!!

Hopefully none of thisImage

No, but I'm happy to learn on your car. Hitting gutters may help to dislodge any metal filings left after the rebuild, so I'm happy to help.

Admittedly, I have previously put out the call for help.

Perhaps you and I have a mismatched definition of HELP!!!

Just got back from Grahams.

Does anyone know where I can get an 8 degree offset key to do my cam timing?? If I can get that and a new timing chain, It could save me the money buying a $200 vernier gear set.

If I can get that tomorrow, and If my mate has finished stripping/cleaning/putting back together my gearbox, we're getting awful close to a good result 8)
