First thing I would do- pull the clutch lever arm out and check the bottom ball bit is not bent/broken...
Easy fix if so! :D
crap - I have even had this problem before. See - I didn't even think of that. When you've been working on a car till after midnight and stuff doesn't go your way you don't think straight.

Hang on - still not thinking straight. The shaft that holds the thrust bearing was moving fully - this would indicate it being internal wouldn't it??

If it's moving fully, you are right. But these arms often crack and flex a bit before they break off. BTW never attempt to TIG weld one, they are heat treated, it just don't last.

Not much inside I can think of inside that will stop the clutch freeing, unless primary gear is dragging as I said..

If clutch pedal feels fine maybe the primary gear is dragging. Is it OK cold?
Brand new primary gear

Checked end float?

my thought exactly. Maybe it is jammed and can't spin? :?

Just spoke to Graham and he said he set it up with plenty of endfloat and moly grease on the primary gear. It is unlikely that is has seized. He also suggested that it could be a cracked clutch arm - even though it looks like it's moving fully, it could be cracked - I have an extra heavy duty diaphragm in it so it is a possibility.

I am going to get away from work as soon as possible to check it out.

Thanks man
Linkages came up good - Alan ended up having a similar plate to the one you lent me, and the actual linkage off a marina works for anyone elses future reference.

Brand new throttle and choke cables.
I had to steal your choke cable clamp but will buy you a brand newie when I go to heritage. Should be able to give it all back to you next time I see you, or can bring it around sooner if you want to install it soon 8)

It's running - but rough.
The HIF44 I got is in crap condition, and it looks like I need a new one.
Makes good power though - but hard to drive.
I'll see you all tomorrow.
