Yeah, but just wait till you give it a good rape out at mallala. Mine runs cooler at speed, but not at a permanent 7000rpm kinda speed. "Oh dear, thats getting hot really quick" Maybe its 'cos i'm chasing Skylines! Weeeee! Never got too hot, mind you.

You're gonna use the electric & mechanical water pumps?
The flow rate of the pump doesn't have a huge bearing on the cooling
the point of the bigger radiator & larger water capacity system is so that the hot water has a longer time to cool down before being pumped back through the engine.

Too high a flow rate doesn't allow the water enough time to absorb the heat from the head, or dissapate it in your U beaut radiator.

mine was running hot at mallala because it had a blown head gasket..
yours might have a blown head gasket?

there was certainly nothing wrong with my cooling setup.

danielles mini sits on 79-82 and it has a refrigeration aux cooler.
plus its got a thermo fan also..

Yes, but if my lil' mini one cant push the water all the way there and back again, its all no good. There was this most awesome sports sedan mini at our last show (one centre seat!), had a huge front-mount... And an electric pump. No mech pump, tho... Another race car had a front mount, but always complains of overheating also. I dont think the mini pump is up to the job.

Spaceboy - I'm gonna give it a compression check this weekend. Soon find out with the Head Gasket.

Mech pumps flow faster & higher pressure than the leccy ones
but not all pumps are created equal.
MadMatt had some good words here:

Autospeed Magazine did a good test & write up on the CraigDavies water pump but I didn't get to read all of it before they were gagged by legal threats :?

Does this mean they are shite or what? I have seen a couple on all different cars, but i've never actually spoken to the car owners about them. Spose i should one day.
