Anyone know if it's possible to get a replacement for the sensor and the pipe attached to it, for a mechanical specometer water temp guage? I managed to snap the pipe.. I tried Repco but they reckon you have to replace the whole guage. Pain in the ass $50 just cause the little pipe broke. :(

Unfortunately you will need to get a new gauge as they are one unit & if the pipe is stuffed the gauge won't work.

Concur with Makka - the tube is filled with ether - very very flammable and is a gas at room temperature hence would be impossible to refill unless in space!. Repco occaisionally have Speco on special for $29 dollars so replace the guage - I reckon it would cost you an arm and a leg to get the tube repaired.

i had a smiths temp(mechanical) guage repaired, cost me $150 to have the new sender fitted with new ether, serviced and calibrated. It's cheaper to buy a new one, unless it's hard to find.

cheers

Yep I'll probably have to buy a new one.. I was just hoping Speco sold these as replacements.
