Mick as you know I always you HT Steel Bolts, what I was wondering is what difference mild steel v HT steek would make as far as needing crush collars inside my tube?
Yeah I have just welded the first right angle to bulk head (and yes with the welded captive nuts). She ain't going no where, I think well and truly strong enough. The other one should be finished tomorrow and then it is dash and electrics to go and she's finished.
I dint say anything about crush collars...it was him
No...I just suggested that you could duplicate the front angle bracket and whack another on the other side of the cross brace....with something welded to join the two brackets together....thats likely to be immensley strong and well located.
and den oye said....those fore and aft existing holes are crying out to be used....again...a flat bracket (or foot) welded to the existing work you have done so far would allow you to use the existing holes in the floor and would also give you tremendous strength if it was suitably braced and flat washered underneath the floor (in my humble opinion..)
Mate....at this rate you might be driving it to the Terribly British Day....04 Dec 05.
