I just replaced a rear wheel bearing on my clubby because it seemed to have movement where the other side didn't. Problem is it still has movement with the
new bearing. I can't tighten the nut any more without damaging something.
The nut is as tight as I can get it which seems strange, I thought it would bind the bearing if too tight.
Could it be that the axle itself is worn?
Anybody had this problem before?

Which direction is the movement in?
Along the shaft or against it?

I seem to remember two types of rear wheel bearing being available ?

One designed for Cooper is slightly wider or something and causes movement if used in different drum setup and needs to be machined down if you happen to use that one.

Dont quote me on that though....it may be totally wrong.

Have you checked that it is not the swing arm bushes and roller bearings gone :?:

It's definately not the swing arm I can feel the movement in the hub.
The movement isn't along the axle, if I grab both sides of the hub the
movement seems to be against the axle.
