I don't think it is an S.
I think the Mini S is 022 and te Mini is 021.

Does it have factory flares?
Does it have spacer drums?

I have a late clubby with all the pollution gear too, what would happen if I took it all off ?

the engine bay seems alot more complicated than other minis I have had - charcoal canister etc.

Any thoughts ?

It is "kind of" legal to remove the pollution gear now. ADR 27 has been removed from the books. (check the Dotars webpage)
Lets face it, ADR27 was designed for leaded fuel so it would not be the same with unleaded.

Talk to your local rego authorities before removing.

The general consensus is that you keep the carbon cannister
(for the fuel tank vent & breathers) and scrap the rest.
Most of us have done this & had no problems from the MiB Image

The dudes in suits will be too busy looking at the turbo charged whisky still and the Jet based beer can cooler.
