I fitted my rear subframe, and the RH wheel stuck out 1/4" further than my LH wheel.
I droped the subframe and I want to know is there a way you can measure the subframe to see if the frame is straght or if either LH/RH arms are str8. Is there any adjustments that can be caried out with the rear frame?

Minis can vary quite a bit, made worse if car has ever had a hit.
Mine was the other way, the RH wheel was 5mm too far in. I made a 5mm alloy wheel spacer.... 8)

that was an option, Or adjustable rear camber, with tow in adjustment.
But is there a way to see if the subframe is straght.

If you drop the subframe out you can check the diagonals.
Or go get it wheel aligned. If one side won't go to toe-in with all the shims removed, It's had a hit.

Put a tape measure across the front and rear corners, diagonally. They should be ~ the same if frame is not bent.
There is provision for shims between the outer trailing arm bracket and the subframe where the 2 bolts go in. Adding some will increase toe-OUT, but if all shims are out and there is no toe-IN, you have a problem.

The RH does have tow in. But if i packed that out with shims, I would get the car to handle well, But that wont fix one wheel being 1/4" further out RIGHT?

If you pack the RH mount with shims, YES the RH wheel will move inwards a bit.
Standard toe-in is 1/8" (half each side, or it'll crab...)

Could it just be the trailing arm?
Is there a way to find out if they are bent?

yeah, make sure the subframe is straight - if the subframe is straight then it must be the trailing arm ;)

sorry....

the early SP #64 manual (the one with the engine on the front) has subframe dimensions in the 'body' section

I will have to look in my old manuals, Not sure if i have the one with the engine on the front. Should be in all the books. Unless anyone knows it off hand.
