I haven't nutted it out yet, but if the cam went round 180 degrees the wouldn't that work?
Or is it that a 'mirrored' cam would be needed? :?

I think a mirror image camshaft , otherwise if you turn the standard cam 180 degree's it'll still be the same , remember the cam does one full revolution for every two revolutions of the crankshaft .

Thats the stuff! that helps actually cause im looking for designs and stuff but yeh rear wheel drive is a must...for me anyways. i think i get what your saying with the rods. now....need a mini shell!

I had a closer look at the remains of the linkage that came with the fang , I'd only seen one end of it poking out of a box and thought it looked rough . After taking it out I still see it's rough but is so simple in design I'll make a new one . This will work best if the gear shifter is mounted at the same height as the rod coming out of the back of the gearbox . There is no need to change or adjust anything else as the movement on the rod is identical to if it was being operated from behind . Just make sure you have some form of bash guard over the gear linkage though or bottoming out on it might do some damage inside . Hope it helps .
