And I found out it has a blown head gasket and that teh head is split and it was only running on 2 cylinders....

Plus other things, will have to spend $3500 to gte it to a perfect car..........

I am getting the most important things upto a grand fixed, that should make it roadworth for a little.....

Many others have to spend a bit to get there mini upto a good standard?

Ian

How did you not know it was running on 2 for a while?

As soon as my moke dropped to 3 it shuddered like I was taking off in 4th and was obvious as rain ?

no i think he said it happened suddenly,
no, at that price i would buy a much better mini...
so you can do a 666, and keep buying em and selling em..
i am sure someone on here can help you for far less..

a head and a gasket shouldnt be more than a couple of hundred.

What else does it need apart from the head and gasket ? Head swap is fairly easy to do , just carefully follow the instructions in a manual and take your time , surely someone over there can give you a hand or guidance ?

Just be aware that this does not have to cost a fortune.

A head gasket kit is <$30 - a head is bugger all from a wreckers or a mini enthusiast and the how too s are freely availbable in manuals and forums/.

Getting your head done particularly with a crack in it is $300 - 400 any day of the week. A head from a wrecking yard or mini-ist is a lot less

dont spend money unwisely and throw away the enjoyment of being a mini owner. Bathurst for the mini was over long ago.

Ian....do you have an itemised quote for $3500 :?: Is this from a reputable Mini garage :?:

As others have said....you may not have to spend a fortune to get this little jigger running
