Hey willy, this is not good mate, i would like to see some pics if i could???
I also have the minispares 4 pot calipera and are for 7.5 inch discs and i have machined down 8.4 vented discs to 7.5in.
I wonder if there is a difference in this as i had to fit a spacer in the middle of the caliper to widen the caliper to fit the vented disc so i cant see why they would be different. see dark section in middle of caliper.
as you can see from how dirty the under side of the car is these calipers have been on the car at this point for over 500km and there is no evidence of the caliper hitting anything
I have lowered my mini too but still they are no where near the tie/caster bar. i also have a fantastic pedal feel with minimal play, just make sure you have good clevis pins too as this can cause big play in the mechanical area before the master cyl even travels.
I have also spoken to a few people who have had a bad time trying to bleed the air from the caliper (i did not have any real problem) but i do know people who had to use a suction pump on the nipple or a a pressure pump on the master cyl to force the air out and after doing this they had great improvment.
I hvae nothing but praise for these brakes.
and the best thing is I have found a common 10inch wheel that will go over them.
