This question has come up before, I thought the main problem with X-Tasman shipment was the Ned Kelly freight cost....

About 15 years ago I did an "Import/Export Course" at night school. What came out about trans-tasman shipping was it was controlled by TNT and National. We were give examples of how it was cheaper (by a long shot) to ship via Japan or Hong Kong using an Agent in either place to tranship the goods (Container loads) than to hop the ditch - Bl**dy crazy

Come on, spill the beans on the car. Oh, and let us know how you go with the import. 8)

Not a lot to say yet.....
May 1969 MK3 .... numbers look like original engine etc (998) - claimed to be pretty standard and original. If same as English specs should be 4 syncro , hydrolastic - has the concealed door hinges, wind up windows etc.

Only 3,500 miles since 1995 (have details for each year since) ..... and 63,500 total on the clock.... though no milage records from 71 to 95 in info I have so far.

Will let you know how things progress.... bit of a gamble as my NZ contacts were not available to check her out .... (ps first picture is not actually of the car)
