Whee is the best place to get replacement hologens for front headlights?

In Supercrap I saw semi sealed beams for $17.95 each, check if they will take an H4 bulb. I forgot to look inside.
Hella H4s are around $150/pr I think, I brought in Wipac Quadoptics from Mini Spares in UK. Cost me around $90/pr I think, was a coupla years ago.

yeah repco sell semisealed and take h4 like 15-20 dollars cheapest option

The two big things with halogens is;

1. The heat generated by the bulbs can and will tend to melt the connectors and the wiring. Don't go overboard with the wattage. keep it sensible and the lights will still be good.

2. The switches on a mini barely cope with the load with normal sealed beams and they definately dont with big H4's. You will definately need a set of good relays for the H4 lights. If you dont, you will burn out the light swithc at a time when you least need it to fail - late at night on a dark road. Its about $100 for the relay and the labour at an auto leccy.

Having said that, I have 120 watt H4 halogens in my mini and they work better that the halogens in the VN commodore - simply light up the night.

I had a little talk with a kangaroo last night in the commodore because the light just did not light up the side of the road where the roos cunningly disquise themselves as stumps until its simply the very last second.

Just a soft talk though, he whacked his tail on the plastic bumper and luckily he wasn't spun into the front guard or door.

I used the New Era headlamp relays, around $35 from Supercrap etc.
Piece of cake to wire up.
They also have 2x 30A blade fuses in them- good idea, as a standard Oz Mini has NO FUSES in the headlamp circuit.

Yea i have 60/100w Hella H4's and they have a better beam than our VT commodore

a grade panels sell's some, im not sure about the brand but they are $60 incl globes

I'm not to sure what the law is re:wattage etc, but in the UK, by far the best option is the WIPACS Conversions.

A nice looking unit, interchangable bulbs (H4 IIRC) and a whole lot brighter than the stock sealed units.
