ive never experienced minis before and i cant afford to stuff up anything atm cause the car is my everyday driver till i get another car so i rather pay an expert and have the car running 100% then me doing it and stuffing something up

Well mechanics wages must have shot up since i did my apprentiship, i know i could'nt afford to have people work on my cars, i did it myself & learn't from my mistakes.

so if somone elses car rolled into your workshop, that u had never worked on, you would curl up into ur shell and send them to a place that knows their car, drive the business away

so u cant afford to fix the mini urself, but u can afford to pay someone to fix it

:?

mini's really are quite simple to work on they are simple carbied all mechanically driven cars. If you aren't prepared to pay good money to a fellow mechanic, do the work yourself, grab a hayes workshop manual their awesome. And if you know enough to be a mechanic then you can find yourself round a mini. Advantage is you know the works done right at the end of the day, and youv'e lernt something about the best car ever made (not that I am biased or anything)

... at works a different story man, theres a place to leave the car if it needs to stay over nite and parts come around alot easyer, at home i have no where to put the car and i havent got any other car to drive if it goes off the road for awhile and i rely on my mini to be running everyday and plus i never have the time to do that sorta thing, i work 6 days a week and sundays packed with stuff i need to do on the saturdays, at them moment since i only juz bought the car i dont mind sending it to an expert to get checked over and fixed and tuned.

i dont own my own workshop, i work for a company and they dont allow workers to work on there own cars at all during work hours in the workshop, minor stuff like wiring and servicing and changing things here and there i will do time to time but atm it needs some big work done and im better off sending it to someone to do it for me then me do it (as they say mechanics cars are never fixed)

But if the car is at another mechanic being fixed, you still have no car, as far as i can see your still in the same boat as fixing it yourself!

MOD EDIT - RULE #1

Man, if you struggle to get work done on a Mini... That was designed in 1959... Then how the hell do you work on modern vehicles?
