hi guys i have a 75 cubman s the coil keeps going just before it gose it get really hot would someone be able to help me out thanks guys

Sounds like an internal short in the windings of the coil. Time to replace.

My bet is it's a `resistor' coil running on 12V without one- Gafmo had this same problem. They get hot then die in the arse... Ok when cool again :wink:

This burns your points out quick, too.

Thats the problem ...with the coil you are using you may need a Resistor in line. Any codes on the coil :?:

Most Oz Minis had a 12V coil with no resistor.
Look on bottom, if it says 12V it's right. If it says `use with resistor' either go buy a ballast resistor from Supercrap etc, or get a 12V marked coil. :wink:

I removed that post because it would probably burn out rather than just get hot, and it would also probably not start because the transformer ratio was buggerd up...soz for the confusion, you quoted faster than I could rethink!
