Finally took the first step to getting my mini on the track today (well it's catually the second, first was fittng the harness and seat properly and sticking number panels on the door, but that was easy.

Once again the value of good friends was on show with Garry allowing me to store the car in his workshop and let me me use all his tools and giving me assistance. The car will live in his workshop until Christmas eve when I hope to have the list of things finished in time for Santas arrival. The only thing that will not be done is the fitment of the roll cage which Bond roll bars will be doing early in the new year.

List of jobs to be done.
Fit LSD
Check ALL nuts and bolts.
Get some head work done
Modify Extractors (so you no llonger have to remove whole Exhaust sytem to get engine out.
Weld up cracked bulk head where engine steady bolts in.
Clea up engine bay
Remove brake booster and throw in bin
Replace all coper lines with stainless.
Braided fuel and brake lines throughout.
New rear ruibber cones (Maybe)
Batter kill switch (the big red key)
External Battery kill switch
front and rear tow hooks
Fire extinguisher
Small bit of floor welding
Lots of go fast stickers

So this thread continues to load quickly I am only posting links to pix.

Sorry Makka was fixing them as you posted.

Not feeling well, I should have been out at Eastern Creek all weekend photographing lots of nice young girls (er sorry I mean cars) but I'm too sick. Oh well next time.

See the car covered in a blue car cover on the hoist in pic 1, that's One of the reasons we have such a great debit and credit favour system.

That is a genuine, One owner, been in the family since new, dismantled by eldest son 15 years ago for rebuild, never touched again, covered in rat crap, dust and spiders, all bits still there, just needs rebuilding, bought for next to nothing shed find - phew.

It was my discovery but I knew I didnt have the ability to do the work so I passed it onto Garry. I'm just happy to watch it brought back to life.

Can you guess what it is by the shape?

CLOSE MAKKA, I KNEW FIRST GUESS WOULD BE PHASE THREE, JUST SUBTRACT 1

The sign of a true old school tradesman. He has beeb there 10 year and the place is always spotless, that's why he always has sensational cars in there. Because I will be going there almost every day between now and Christmas I'll take some pix of the great cars he has comming in and out. You should have seen his face the day my race mini droped it's guts all over the workshop floor LOL.

The Torana I'm not sure of, I know Garry built it from the ground up himself over, well, it's never going to be finished according to him, but he has had it 10 year. I'll find out the full specs.

You think his workshop is clean, check out the engine bay of the torana.

It's for sale - Never Raced, no expense spared, this car is immaculate. only $30,000.00 logged Nc historic race car.

$30,000 is a bargian for it. I seriously tried to talk Mrs Oz into letting me buy it.

Every little detail no matter how minor has been given his touch.

Gary is the only mechanic who I will allow to work on my cars, though he does very little these days. He found the webers by accident if I remember correctly. I will call in on Monday and have a look at the mini.
