ok i got my original carby back from mini king the uk model with the float at the bottom i measured that one and the one they gave me which is an ozzy one and they measure to be the same size... i was think instead of reconditioning the 1.5 uk model and putting it back on tiny would it be possible to get them matched with the same jets springs and floats and use them as a twin 1.5 carby set up on a 1100.

its juz a thought?

twin 1.5 su's are a overkill on a 1100

morris maina over here has a 1420 stroker and that has more then anuf power with twin 1.5 su's so on a 1100 its over kill unless u got a TOTALLY worked 1100

prob not without moddin them also :!:

To get the greatest benefit from twin 1 1/2's you'd need some good head work , make it easier to get all the fuel/air into and out of the head quickly . You say it has a cam ( ) ,I'd be seeing if you can get more info from the previous owner as to what type of cam , is it a little better than standard or a lot better , if you're going to fit twin 1 1/2's and gas flow the head you'd be better with a good cam to take advantage of the extra fuel/air that's available . On a standard 1100 twin 1 1/2's could be a bit big but with a bit of work to the head they'd be alright .

agreed just get it onto a dyno and get richer needle into it

my stock 1100 runs a 1.5 su and extractors and a h6 needle
use to run a no.7
they are two a few of the richest needles for a 1100 without makin it a custom needle  thats with a stock 1100 for some reason it needs to run rich :!:

i think from memory it had a re13 cam i think, the engine and mods were done by mini clinic so i might have to find out off them whats been done, cause the previous owner isnt even sure cause she bought the car the way it was

So you have had two different carbies on the car it has never run right so if you fit both at the same time it will...
1) Run twice as good.
2) Run twice as bad.

Your guess is as good as mine. 8)

I think its a good idea, I would suggest fitting them. Get someone with no SU carb experience to fit/tune, then that way there will be one less unroadworthy mini on the road.
