Lots of WD40 with the straw bit and get it in between the cone and the trumpet - A BFC (Big ******* Chisel) and a BFH (Self Explanatory) and belt away....

Failing that i usually buy new cones/better second hand ones so i don't try too hard...last set i did a couple of weeks back..on one the cone wouldn't come off on the other the knuckle had rusted to the trumpet..

Your cone is quite worn and i would recommend finding some better ones...

Also i hope you have new knuckle joints as well? - the rubber on yours is rooted and i'm sure the nylon cup would be worn by the looks of it...

New vs old...

harder than removing the trumpet from the cone is removing the ball from the trumpet, but spray wd40 and hit it from inside the cone with a long object and hammer oh and hold the trumpet in a vice while you do this.

use two flathead screwdrivers on either side of the cone to lever the trumpet off, it isnt held in there by anything but its a tight fit.

yup - whole lot is held together by the tension of the cone and assembly pressing against the top arm.

With a new knuckle joint they don't come with much grease in them new - best to add a bit more chassis grease before you put them in the car ;)
