i have a new bottom radiator hose without the heater inlet pipe in it, what is the best way to block the hole in the head l/h side ?

can i get a plate , a bit of gasket, gasket sealent and bam, or is it harder?

Cut the hose off about 2" from the elbow on
the head and stick a bolt in the hose and clamp it down.

I have a blanking plate you can have.

p.s
Have you had any luck finding the heater vents you indicated you may have stashed in the garage (I am willing to pay for the vents).

btw
I am still located in SA until Sept.

You are not defacing it. You are puting it to good use. Just fit the 5c between the head and the heater takeoff pipe with a bit of silicone to seal it. (or you could used the outlet as a template to make a plate over the hole)
I would have said to use a 2c piece but you are too young.

BTW the 2c was great for soldering over holes in radiators and fuel tanks.
