Yeah, right on DTrain. But the speakers are Fusion, not Focal!!
If the budget could have stretched, I would have put in JL, MB Quart or Polk speakers in the car.
But the budget was set at $1,500 for the whole shebang - that includes all speakers (2 x 6.5 splits in the front, 4 x 4" midrange in the centre, and 2 x 5.25" coaxials in the rear) plus the two amps (1 x 1000w Class D Monoblock, 1 x 800w 4-channel for the splits and midrange) plus the head-unit itself (just pure sound, no DVD or any of that crappola!)
The driver for which brands of speaker I chose, was "Do they make 4" midrange speakers, and can I buy them?''. There was only a handful of speaker manufacturers that actually make a 4" midrange, Fusion was one of them, they werent overly expensive for what they were, and I could get my greasy mits on them in Australia. MB Quart was the other one I was considering, but could not get them in Oz, and shipping 2 sets (i.e. 4 speakers) from the US was going to cost me $240 just in freight!
I already had the 9" subs (paid $95 each), so they didn't come into the equation.
So Fusion it is:

At the moment the budget stands at:
Powerplant 6.5" Component Speakers - $200 (Wow S&S)
Powerplant 5.25" Coaxials - $130.00 (Wow S&S)
Powerplant 4" Midrange (2 sets) - $100.00 (Wow S&S, heavily discounted)
Powerplant 1000X Monoblock Amp - $315 (BitAudio)
That leaves $755 for the 4-Channel amp (already costed at $315 as well), and head unit (JVC KW-XG706 perhaps for $399). Leaves a bit of change for wiring etc.
So there you have it. And I honestly believe that setup is the best bang for my bucks (I have been researching and asking questions for over 6 months now). Another good thing about the Fusion Powerplant amps, is that they will fit under my seats, on the aluminium seat rails I have made.
Please feel free to comment.
Cheers,
Tricky
