g'day yes you have to have your windows out as the rubbers help hold the lining in.....i did mine and wish that i had another go at doing it as it has a few creases any way.........do your windscreens first and pull firm but not too tight.... then work down both sides slowly pulling out creases{not too hard or you will stretch the vinal} and gluing and then the rubber.... it will take a while but persiver and good luck.........

I have done it and have to say its not a hard job, however i do have an upholstery background.
Take all glass out, and use a heat gun or hair dryer to help gat creases out.
I say give it a go. Be paient with it.
Its only material, you can make it do what you want.
Best of luck.

lilmatti,

I suggest you check the contents of the kit. I purchased one a few months ago and it didn't come with the rectangular piece that runs under the back window between the pillars. I managed to convince the seller to supply the extra piece but he wasn't particularly enthusiastic about it and said that he would have to cover the extra cost. I tried to point out that this section was a standard part of the interior headlining and needed to match the other headlining material.
Good luck.
P.S. I haven't fitted mine yet so can't help in that regard.
Doug

did you buy it from the same seller?... any1 know what order the bows go? i dont have the same colours as the one in the other forum

Yeah mine had everything, i also paid a little extra and got some made up for the two front pillars that run down between the windscreen.
Here's a pic of my kit.

Sounds like my polite message was heard. What puzzled me at the time I purchased mine is that I had seen those Mini one's sold on eBay for some time and most Mini enthusiasts would know that piece is in the same material and required, so why would he act a bit surprised initially when he said it wasn't meant to be part of the kit? Anyway, great that it's now included.
Like lot's of others, if you can take some photos in between the 'stretching and gluing' and stick them up here I'm sure it would be of great benefit to the forum.

Just pay a trimmer to put it in, its not expensive, PM trimm he's a damn good trimmer thats very reasonably priced, if you fit it yourself & stuff it up you will hate yourself.
