I decided to use a minispares.com manifold. They are really cheap. I know they are not as good as GR's but I am going to mod the firewall and stick as many spacers as I can. This will bring the volume up a bit and should help flow. I gave the manifold a good grind as per Vizard. It seems to have opened up more of a direct route to the intake ports....maybe
Next was the dizzy. I pulled the shaft and bob weights out of a D4R85 and sent em to GR. He painted it in pretty colours and sent it back to me.(he actually limited the max advance and tested in on his dizzy machine)
The advance plate was virtually siezed so I pulled the whole thing to bits and greased it all up. I had my local guy machine a couple mm off the drive dog as it was a bit tight.
I cut the adjuster tab off and shaped the body of the dizzy with a burr so the clamping plate fitted nice.
While I was robbing other makes I grabbed a Gemini starter. I was pleased to find that it was a reconditioned item. I was cranking my engine over tonight to get the oil pressure up and it was awesome. heaps of grunt. Kinda boring but in this photo you can see by how much I had to lengthen the slot. Alot more than I thought.
I wanted to upgrade my oil system. I got a new oil pump and got rid of the crappy banjo pipe. Kev made me up this bling pipe. Its pretty fat and is good quality.
I had my radiator cut up and cleaned. It ended up costing me about $150, I may have been better off buying a new one?
I pinched this overflow tank off a Jag or a Merc at UPULLIT. I wire brushed it coz the paint was flakey but I will more than likely paint it again.
And lastly as far as the important stuff goes, the exhaust. It is a good second handy I picked up from Brickworkx. Nice pipe really, 1 7/8 inch ID.
and that in the words of my good friend Forest Gump, "is all I have to say about that"
