Hey, lets go easy on the Noob!
If this info is stamped on the firewall (Bulkhead) behind the Master cylinders, my interpretaion would be:
M2 22 is I believe a the prefix for a Mini Clubman, (pre Leyland) the 003 could be the body number as suggested, Yes this might mean it could be Mini Clubman No 3?
It might follow that the actual car number could be around 500-501 higher than this? so YG2S7 503 or 504? Compliance date could be anything, but I would think around July 71?
I have seen reference to other early run cars not being stamped on the radiator shroud, I think the Mini car club (NSW) identification guide mentions this.
As for the PA, was this a pre production reference for early run cars? Production Approved??
I would not be so bold as to suggest any of this (above) is correct, but also I would not state that "All cars have radiator shroud stamping" we all know how fickle procedures seem to have been around this time in the factory!
I would say, check for front end damage, does it look like the shroud / inner guard has been replaced, what does the plate on the L/H inner guard say?
Oh and make sure you take plenty of pics! I am very interested in this car!!
OK, I'm off to hide for when the argy bargy starts!! Help!
