I have been told by the previous owner he thought it was a 64 however the rego paper says 69.

Allthough it does not have sliding windows? i know doors can be changed though.

obviously the pencil is pointing to where the numbers i found are :D
Image
the number i found here was,
42348
but my girlfriend was convinced it said...
48848

Image
the number on the firewall was
42149

Also where abouts would i find the engine number besides my rego paper - Which i cant seem to find so i wont know until i get my renewal

It's mid 68 or later, by the wiper setup.
With numbers that high I'd say either Mini Deluxe or Mini K.

No, the holes in the body where the wipers are mounted changed in mid 1968.
Before that they parked on the drivers side.

Engine number is stamped on top of the engine block, near #1 spark plug. below the top rad hose, in your pic.

Mini K numbers never went as high as that.
It must be a Mini Deluxe.
They changed the wiper direction in mid 68 with car number 32800.
I would say that this car is a very late Deluxe, so it would be mid 69.

The number near the radiator is the body number.
The number on the firewall near the master cylinders is the car number.
This is the important number, this should match the rego papers (unless they stuffed up and used the other number!)
The two numbers should be around 500 apart. The number on the firewall should be higher than the other number.

I would not worry too much about the differences between the numbers. They were about to change the numbering system in a short time and they changed it again a year later. Your car may have had the body and car numbers the other way around for some reason.
The engine number would be 12YD/Ta/H 578*. This is a Morris 1100 S motor.
They only made about 15000 of them so the highest number is in the high 15000s.

Oooooooo Hold the presses.......
It may not be a Deluxe at all.
Looking at the photos the car looks a lot like an early body with the late wipers stuck on. I am thinking it may be a Mini 850.

I wish I could see the car in person to check all the details. :?

Please fix the bonnet badges, they ruin a nice car.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

 I was looking at the front thinking something looked wrong but couldn't place it ... Your badges are the wrong way around , s goes above the other .

Anyway , back on topic , look at the valance/stone tray , no cutouts at the side so it's an early 850 .

He has to work out if the car is an 850, Deluxe or a K before he can change the badge.

I think we should pass a rule that if a car has a Morris 1100S motor it should run the S off the 1100S. 8)
