Make it negative earth, it takes me about 10 minutes:
1. turn battery around and reverse battery cables.

2. swap the 2 coil primary wires so that the <->ve one goes to the points and ignition goes to <+>.
Very old coils may be marked CB and B, these correspond to + and -.

3. remove cover from voltage regulator.
using a screwdriver, push the cutout contacts together for a couple of seconds, then pry them apart.

Generator is now polarized for neg earth, go fit your Pulsar dizzy, MP3 player, etc etc. 8)

Pulsar dizzy has a vacuum canister, unless you've removed it.
But- if you are talking about a sidedraft Weber or Dellorto carby, NO there is no way to connect it up. Mine runs fine with the canister unconnected.

why is there no way to connect a vac advance up with a webber, i have the vacume holes in my manifold, what about a electric advance, even if there is nothing inside the dissy that advances it i was thinking having the whole dissy turn about 3-7 degress with the use of a solinoid,

There is no way to run vacuum on a sidedraft Weber or Dellorto because the vacuum levels in each port near the butterfly fluctuate so wildly, unlike an SU. Each port flows for 2 induction strokes then rests while the other port flows.
Anyway- a vacuum advance is just an economy device- at higher throttle openings it does stuff all.
<edit> In a Mini with the usual sporty cam of ~270 deg duration and 106 deg LCA, it does nothing. Due to the valve overlap there is insufficient vacuum to advance it, even at part throttle cruise.

My 45 Dellorto with no vac advance has better throttle response than my twin HS4s with vac advance. 8)

Just a quick question about which pulsar dizzy would be best for my set up?

Im goin for a D4R85 but do i need the auto or manual??

Cheers

Doesn't matter which one you use, D4R83 or D4R85- you will need to get the advance curve adjusted to work best in an A series or A+ anyway.

For those doing this convertion and find they want or need to change the Rotor Button & Dizzy Cap this is what you are looking for
Nissan Pulsar N12 1.5 Motor built from mid to late 80's

Bosch Cap GH617 & Button GH605 should not cost you more than $40 in total

It took me 3 Auto Spare location to get what we need and a bit of internet work
