These brackets are small, they would only just overhang a 50 cent piece, so an angle grinder would make it pretty difficult, so would a plasma cutter.

doesn't everyone have a 2m wide hydraulic guillotine at work? ours is set up near the 300mm cold saw, near the pan brake (sheet bender)

Ian, I made my carb heat shields out of (roughly) 2mm aluminium - with the extractors at 240* C, I can touch the back of the heat shield.... works good

I bought one of these the other day - only cause I thought it would be useful for cutting rust out of the Moke shell but it may work for what I've got in mind at the moment.

i use a plasma cutter, die grinder, 4' angle grinder with the thin discs,jig saw etc. whateva works.

I used to work in sheet metal. We would get little jobs like this in all the time. Doesn't cost much, especially if the customer has brought in his own sheet and marked it all out. We would just use the hydraulic guillotine and a nibbler, then just fold it in the bender.
