Gets expensive though, $50ish per kg and im on to my 2nd one and may need another one (i had LOTS of rust), makes me think maybe i should have sandblasted, oh well

yeah this stuff is the go it works brilliantly and 1kg will be heaps... ( i found the hardest bit is getting into the roof guters - but it gets there eventually). You may need to do it 2 or 3 times but works well ( i would say it would be pitted slightly after cleaned - i was surprised how bad mine was/is after it had been cleaned)

I met an old french miner once who was dying of silicosis, worst thing I've ever seen.

That aside thanks all! Two suppliers of abrasives and a chemical solution - time to decide which to use now!
